Bruce, Herman

Herman Bruce was born 1947 in ʼYa̱lis, BC. He is a member of the ‘Namgis First Nation. Herman’s first inspiration came from his brother Tom Bruce now deceased. Herman creates masks and monumental totem poles. Model totems are another phase of Herman’s creations. Herman works to inspire other members of his family to ensure the continuity in this art style. Herman closely follows the traditional styles of his people.
